Ritual Eating

Ritual Eating a 7 piece, one-of-a-kind dinner set made specifically for the solo diner. Two bowls, two plates, one bottle, one drinking vessel, and a sculpture- This set attempts to acknowledge the lonely, single, anti-social, depressed, or isolated eater who feel disconnected from food or the act of eating in community. Meant to fit together like a puzzle, each piece in the set is bound to the other pieces by a larger surface decoration. The purpose of this manner of visual unification is meant to encourage the user to use all pieces in the set, to ritualize setting up their dinnerware for themselves, and to eat with variety and quantity. The 7th piece in the set is a sculpture companion that witnesses the eater taking care of themselves through the act of eating.
